Follow the guidelines below and keep these simple suggestions in mind to ensure your day of beauty turns out just how you want it.
Schedule hair and makeup appointments for your wedding day. Be sure to make your practice appointments as well.
Consider appointments for the other special women involved with the wedding. Attendants, mother-of-the-bride, mother-of-the-groom and even out of town guests that may need appointments.
Allow yourself enough time so you don’t feel rushed and you can relax and enjoy your time at the salon. You may want to schedule a massage or pedicure before your hair and make up if you have time!
As a rule of thumb, we suggest to have your hair and makeup done no more than 5 hours before pictures.
Have your hair trimmed/cut and colored to maintain your current style and make sure your color is fresh and your hair is healthy. You could consider having your practice bridal up do at this same appointment to save a trip. Check that your husband-to-be has a haircut appointment set up 7 days before the big day.
To your practice updo please bring: your veil, head piece, or anything you are planning on wearing in your hair. A picture of your dress is helpful to give the stylist an idea of the look you are going for. Pictures of hair that you like are a wonderful way to communicate your vision to your stylist. If you don’t have any ideas, that is okay! We have lots of experience and can work with you to achieve the perfect look.
Please note, practice appointments give you the opportunity to try your head piece, and make sure that your haircut and color works to achieve your desired wedding style.
Confirm all of your beauty appointments.
This is not the best time to try a new hairstyle. If you are wanting to consider a new look for the wedding, 3-5 months before the big day is preferable so you have time to get used to your look.
Be sure to wear a button-down shirt for your hair and makeup appointments and bring your headpiece. Relax and leave the work to us!
We recommend washing your hair the night before, as most updos respond better. Be sure to discuss this with your stylist during your practice appointment. Please remind your bridal party of these suggestions as well.
